| Morrisville hockey finishes season strong | |
|
The 2006-07 season was a transition year for the Morrisville ice hockey team, but the Mustangs held their own in their first season in Division III. After beginning the season with an uncharacteristic four straight losses, the team turned things around and won 10 of its final 19 games, finishing the season with a respectable 10-13 record. The Mustangs will also head into the 2007-08 season riding a 5 game win streak that was sparked with a 6-3 victory against the GMHL All-Stars at the Ice Plex on Jan. 27. Throughout the five game streak the Mustangs outscored their opponents by an outstanding margin of 26-12. After the win against the GMHL All-Stars, Mustangs head coach Earl Utter, told his team that its goal should be to win its final two games of the season. The team responded well. With a strong core of players returning next season and a year of Division III competition under their belts, the team should be capable of great success in the near future. |
