The Departed

Winning best picture at the Academy Awards this year was “The Departed” with its captivating, box office hit performance. The film not only won best picture, but also the spots for best director, best adapted screenplay, and best film editing. “The balance of brutal violence, wildly inappropriate humor, and easy low-boil romance, is nothing short of masterful…a hell of a good time,” writes Brian Juergens from Freeze Dried Movies online.

The film's director, Martin Scorsese, who was also known as the greatest living American filmmaker without an Oscar, was given a lot of praise for finally earning a prize that some believe he has had coming for years. “With the help of slick writing, an A-list cast and plenty of twisted surprises, Scorsese scores again,” Tyler Hanley of Palo Alto Weekly writes.

The film is simply a must see. With plenty of action packed scenes, the “mob epic” story line that audiences seem to swoon over, and a cast that proves their passion for acting, there is nothing more a movie lover could ask for. Its twisted plots will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and every action packed scene after another will excite your every nerve. “We’ll be talking about this one for years to come,” writes Pete Hammond, from Maxim magazine.
