| College Life with Dawn: In memory of Laura Janson | |

The STUAC little Theatre is full. And cold, according to the blonde man who has made his way to the podium to speak. He puts his jacket on, reassuring the audience that “she wouldn’t mind.” “She” is Laura Janson, the beautiful young woman whose life was taken on Dec. 29, shortly before her second semester at Morrisville State would have started. Pictures of her all-too-short life flash before an audience full of people whose lives she touched in some way. Friends and family hear excerpts she valued from her personal bible. She has inspired so many with her faith and genuine love for those around her. While we attend our classes and complain about the snow, I think it’s important to take time to appreciate our lives. To appreciate those around us. Get to know that quiet stranger in your biology class now, because you may never get another chance. Leaving the theatre, I felt as though I had left something behind. I did not know Laura Janson. but as I wiped the tears from my eyes and pushed the heavy door to leave, I wished I had. |
