Mustangs take another victory |

The women’s soccer team picked up its second victory of the season at Cazenovia, Sept, 23, shutting out the Wildcats, 1-0. Jessie Squire scored the lone goal for the Mustangs as they beat the Wildcats. The goal was assisted by Jessica Yates with 59:15 left in the second half. Katie Tiffany was in goal and picked up the shutout. She had 7 saves on 16 shots on goal. The Mustangs then headed to Buffalo State on Sept, 26 where they were blown away by a score of 7-1. The lone goal for the Mustangs was scored by Joanna Johnson at 24:33 in the first half. The goal was assisted by Rachelle Gillis. Katie Tiffany was in goal and had 17 saves for the mustangs. They then headed up north to Poultney, Vermont to take on the undefeated Green Mountain College Eagles in a game that did not go the Mustangs’ way. Morrisville lost, 5-0. The Mustangs had only three shots on goal to Green Mountain’s 25. Katie Tiffany was in goal for the Mustangs and had 13 saves. The Mustangs traveled to Brockport State on Oct, 7 and suffered yet another shutout defeat by a score of 4-0. In this game the Mustangs had zero shots on goal to Brockport’s forty-four. All four goals were scored in the first half. Jessica Yates was in goal for the Mustangs and had 22 saves. The Mustangs headed to Alfred on Oct 10, and lost, 2-0. Katie Tiffany had 21 saves for Morrisville. The Mustangs again, struggled to get shots on goal as they finished with just one shot to Alfred’s 31. Morrisville lost its following two games at Elmira and Lebanon Valley Colleges, each by the score of 8-0. The team has struggled since its 1-0 victory at Cazenovia, scoring just one goal in six games. They have been shut out five times. The Mustangs complete their first NCAA season tomorrow at Mitchell College. |
