Around this time of the year, many people are looking for clothes that can keep them warm without making them look bundled up. They want to be stylish for the weather.

On the Morrisville campus, many students are wearing jeans, long-sleeve shirts, the occasional hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts and sweatpants. This is the normal college wear, but fashion is always a bonus to your look.

I felt that by asking some of the local campus students, I could get a better idea of how students have started the year off with their own unique style. "I don't know, I just go with however I'm feeling like that day. But I've mainly been wearing jeans, hoodies, and t-shirts; keeping it simple," says student Arshad Richardson.

"I don't try to go all out and dress up everyday for school,” said Jontae Bryant. “But this fall I'm just wearing a lot of dress shirts, jeans, zip up sweaters, and jackets."

A fashionable women's store called Wet Seal has a big insight on the new upcoming fashion for this fall. "Well, there are a lot of cute styles coming up this fall,” says store manager Christy Smitt. “There is going to be a lot of cropped hoodie jackets, stripes, and polka dots.

“There are also new sweaters that are known as '80s longer fine-gauge sweaters. Those are usually worn with wide belts that go high on your waist. Surprisingly, we also have stirrups as a follow-up to the leggings coming out last year."

Abercrombie & Fitch always knows what's going on in the newest fashion for men. "The biggest men's style that they believe is going to be big this year are low-rise, slim boot pants,” says store manager Alexus Frita. “Polo tops that are 'destroyed', or 'distorted' looking are in along with v-necks, and pin-striped shirts.”

Some of the new fashion wardrobe consists a lot of last year's style; just bolder and lesser in some areas for men. According to the magazine GQ, less-bold colors are in this fall. Men are starting to wear colorful long striped "college scarves." Designers are also starting to stick to blank white shirts in their collections. Hints of “dusty rose,” which is a light pink color, is in as long as you don't overdo it in your outfit.
Pants this season are mostly dark washed and close-cut around the ankles. Baggy jeans are becoming more extinct every season.

Striped polos are neutral for men because they bring out different colors in the outfit instead of wearing just one color. Hoodies are still in style. Baggy hoodies are old, though. Fitted hoodies are in now, because extra baggage has become annoying, especially for the college student on the go. Thermal long-sleeved shirts were introduced last year as a basic fashion instead of part of your undergarments. They have continued to be in style, but this season they look good with short polos and tees.

Women this fall have more of a sophisticated look. Plaid is in big-time this year with many different colors and styles; you can easily mix and match your plaids without any worries. Leg warmers are also back for another round, worn with mini-skirts. Leg warmers worn by themselves are a big negative! Fur was in last year, but this fall, big fur is the best fur; jackets with nice plump fur on it are definitely hot.

Peacoats give the sophisticated women more of a proud high-class look. They are going to keep you nice and warm with our Morrisville weather, and they’re stylish. Vogue has classified vests as one of the hottest new fashions to come back in style. Many different styles of vests are coming out, such as velvet, leather, knitted, and fitted. They will be sure to give you a unique look to your personality. Vogue has also stated that belts wrapped around a coat, sweater, blouse, or tunics are a bonus. Therefore your waistline is covered, yet emphasized.

Fashion comes and goes as quickly as you think of it. Don't stay left behind this year and get stuck wearing last year's styles. Keep your wardrobe looking hot and fresh, and be the envy of the campus!
