There seems to be a phenomenon streaking through the mens' dorms on Morrisville State College campus. The streaker, known to students by names such as “Dorm Streaker”, “White Knight”, and “Hung Solo,” has been spotted several times this semester as well as last semester, galloping through dorm halls.

There was a video posted on youtube that has since been deleted titled, “SUNY Morrisville - Morrisville, NY.” It depicted a young man streaking down a dorm hallway past several residents and their family members. Most people who were caught on that video just looked away and laughed, while others appeared as if they where trying to capture their own images with cell phones.

A CHIMES reporter conducted a survey of 50 males who have lived on campus for at least one full semester, thirty-three had heard of the streaker, 19 of whom saw him in either Mohawk or Onondaga Hall. The students who had seen him just shrugged it off as normal college hazing.

Matthew Devin, a student and avid guitar player living in Mohawk Hall, recalled a day last year around Christmas when he first spotted the streaker. He says he was sitting in his room playing his guitar when the streaker ran by. He added on to say that he laughed at the time, but to this day, he has not seen the streaker roaming the halls since.

Although it seems that so many students have heard of the streaker or have seen him in action, UniversityPolice Chief Enrico D’Alessandro said no one has filed a complaint, "nor have we ever heard of a campus streaker. If an individual was found on campus exposing himself or herself, University Police would consider making an arrest.”

D’Alessandro said charges for streaking consist of Indecent Exposure, under NYS Penal Law Section 245.01, a violation punishable by up to 15 days in jail and a fine imposed by the court.  Public Lewdness, which is a Class A Misdemeanor under NYS Penal Law Section 245.00, is punishable by up to one year in jail, or a maximum fine of $1,000.00, or both.
