The annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing will be at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville on South Street at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7.
Sharry Woodcock, Keyboard Specialist at in the Student Activities Office, said the Crouse Community Center has been holding this event for more than a decade.
It is made up of both Morrisville students and community members who hold other events throughout the year, such as the Winter Fest in February, the Halloween Parade and the Easter Egg hunt.
“The students really help out with the crowds,” Woodcock said of the Christmas tree lighting event.
The event is open to everyone in the community and the college. The chorus from the Morrisville Elementary School will be singing Christmas carols at the event, and there will be other forms of music as well.
Finally, Santa Claus will be coming to Morrisville!
He will arrive at the start of the event on a wagon pulled by horses from the Equine Center. Children will be able to get their pictures taken with Santa Claus and get candy.
There will be other refreshments available as well, such as cookies, chocolate milk and eggnog.
“It will be fun,” said Woodcock, who will play a special part at the event.
